MAKE IT ALL

Creating A Table Of Contents For Drone Drifters

A more specific accounting of what Drone Drifters needs.

A pile of Table-top Roleplaying game books opened to their Contents pages.

I wasn't super satisfied with the list I came up with in the previous blog post for the remaining work needed on Drone Drifters. I still think the things I laid out in that post are relevant and I believe that it was important to get those thoughts out of my head and onto paper, but I'm hoping to break down this large amorphous burden of work that forms when I think about Drone Drifters into a bunch of smaller, more manageable chunks.

To that end, in this post I'm just gonna try to craft a version one of a Table of Contents for the game, to act as both a list of the content that the game requires, and a first pass at how that content should be organized. The table below may also include some minor things that a traditional Table of Contents page might skip, just so I can visualize those pieces in context of the more major sections.

I've also been toying with the idea of baking in some assumptions about the campaign--giving it some basic structure and story threads that the players can latch onto in their own campaigns. Below are some truncated aspects that should be included if I choose to go that route.

  • The Dream of Ana
    • Layout
    • Personnel
    • Missions
  • The Universe
    • Aliens Species
      • Culture
      • History
    • Locations
